The Gardens Childcare opened their first nursery in 1987. The Northcote Gardens opened in January 2010 and is the fourth nursery in the group.
The new nursery is led by founders Sarah and Laura, and managed by a team of qualified and very experienced staff. The nursery offers the children a varied and stimulating day within a carefully structured programme.
The first floor ‘nursery landing’ is specially designed for babies and toddlers. The two bright and well-equipped playrooms offer a wide range of fun activities. The babies have their own separate ‘sleep’ room. Weather permitting all the babies and toddlers go out for walks on a daily basis. Only full days (8am-7pm) are offered to children up to the age of 2 years.
Downstairs in the main nursery the older children have two large interconnecting playrooms with direct access to a secure garden with a wide range of physical and sensory activities.
Over the year different themes are introduced (e.g. dinosaurs, the seaside, farm animals) incorporating colour, shape, number and letter recognition.
Throughout the week the children participate in a variety of activities including ballet, music, singing, French, cooking, sports and lots of messy play with sand & water, play-dough & clay, and paint & glue.
The children will be able to enjoy visits to the local park and outings such as farm trips, zoo visits and fruit picking. One afternoon a week the older nursery children can bring a packed lunch as part of their pre-school preparations.
Children over the age of two years may attend day care on a full (all day) or part time (morning or afternoon) basis, benefiting from a nursery school routine during term time (38 weeks a year) and more informal sessions during the holidays. This will ensure they enjoy a varied curriculum and have lots of fun.
Weekly menus are created with help from The Gardens Childcare personal nutritionist. All our food is either organic or free range and is sourced from a farm in Kent and cooked on the premises. We make our own bread and provide organic milk and filtered water.
When a child leaves for ‘big school’ they can come back and meet up with old friends at our summer camp until the age of eight.
EARLY BIRD CLUB from 7.30 - 8am with breakfast.
THE PARK GARDENS SUMMER CAMP will take place at our nursery in King Georges Park. This will offer children aged 3-8 fun activities, sports, outings, arts and crafts and lots more.
